I'm Zoe. I'm 20 years
old, and a second year history student at university. I'm not going to disclose
which university I am at, but I'll give you a clue - it's recently been
documented as having the lowest contact hours for my course out of all the
uni's in the country (because obviously the DailyMail is the most reliable news
source, second only to Yahoo answers). I'm an enthusiastic and creative
individual, and put my all into everything. When I'm not in my one lecture a
week I enjoy hitting the gym, cooking and messing around with friends. Oh yeah,
and watching Hollyoaks. I'm passionate about culture - I love art, historical
buildings, and the countryside. I thrive off the
uncool things in life: being over organized, arranging stationery (don't worry,
I'll do a blog on my new Lamy pen) and reading the DailyMail.
Before university, I completed the International Baccalaureate,
despite having dyslexia, with a respectable score of 39. I can safely say that
the final year of IB has been more difficult than the first two years of uni.
If any of you out there are struggling with it, and probably procrastinating
right now, then drop me a line and I'll reassure you!
I am grateful to the
hospitality industry for providing me with the means to buy cocktails, clothes
and chocolate muffins. Having worked at Highclere Castle (yes, that’s Downton
Abbey to you) for four years, I am sympathetic to all you waiters and
waitresses out there dealing with the constant trauma of giving the skinny
woman that teacup of hot water, just because she brought her own green- tea
bag. Consequently, I've been to hundreds of weddings, eaten thousands of scones
but yet still can't enjoy a cup of tea. Currently
I am working for two different national catering companies, so I'm sure
I will have a lot to say about many problems of grumpy customers!
I love travelling, and
have been lucky enough to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world.
I have been inspired by my jet setting family members to do the same, which is
why I have set my hopes on the bright lights of San Francisco. I'll probably
break an arm and a leg in the process of getting there, but I can't wait for
the best year of my life. After work, we are intending to do some travelling
round the states. I will love to hear from any of you that may have advice on
travelling or working overseas, as every little piece of advice will go a long
way!
If you want to contact
me, then send me a private message on twitter @pathtosanfran, or email me on pathtothebrightlights@gmail.com and I'll get back
to you ASAP. I look forward to hearing from you all!
